Kevin Hart’s comedy brand ‘Laugh Out Loud’ is partnering with Sundance Institute to create a screenwriting fellowship for Black women.

Titled ‘Women Write Now,’ the initiative aims to provide opportunities for Black women screenwriters in the world on comedy.

Three screenwriters – Wilandrea Blair, Danielle Nicolet, and Moni Oyedepohave – have been chosen to have their scripts developed.

All three writers will be paired with either Megan Good, Gabrielle Dennis or Bresha Webb, who will be directing the screenplays.

The films will premiere at a private screening during the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.

In a statement, Laugh Out Loud’s president and COO said: “Black women have contributed to some of the industry’s most successful and innovative film and television content.

“Yet, opportunities for this group are still few and far between; especially in comedy. With ‘Women Write Now,’ we’re not just shining a light on a problem, but also illuminating a path to long-term solutions.”
