Disney Plus Releases First Look At ‘The Proud Family’ Reboot Characters

The Proud Family is coming back!

Disney+ released a first look at the new character designs for the animated series The Proud Family: Prouder and Louder, which is a reboot of the 2001 Disney Channel series The Proud Family.

In the sneak peak video titled “The Family Tree,” Creator and executive producer Bruce W. Smith and executive producer Ralph Farquhar gave a quick run-down of the modern-version of The Proud Family cast. 

Keke Palmer will voice the new character in town, Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins, a 14-year-old activist that is mature for her age.

Reprising their roles are Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, Jo Marie Payton as Suga Mama, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer, Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez, and Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby Proud.

An official release date has not been announced. However, Disney+ did confirm that the new animated series will come out in 2021.
