Congratulations to Alex Scott! The sports broadcaster was awarded with honorary doctorates in science and sport from the University of East London and University of Hertfordshire.
The former Arsenal captain and England player wrote on Instagram: “I was humbled to receive my doctorate alongside so many incredible individuals last week. You all touched my heart with your achievements, strength and kind words on the day.”
She continued: “The University of Hertfordshire played a huge role in my professional sporting life and subsequent career so this was a surreal full circle moment to be stood on stage delivering a speech to the students and faculty. At the same time, I am so proud as an EastEnd girl who has never shied away from where she has come from, to be recognised by the University of East London.”
