Rappers LL Cool J and Jay-Z have both been in inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Whilst LL, 53, had been nominated for the induction six times, this was Jay-Z’s, 51, first time.
Both legends represented HipHop at this year’s ceremony and LL even performed a medley of his hits with Jennifer Lopez and Eminem.
In Jay-Z’s speech, he said: “Thank you, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for this incredible honor. And you know, growing up, we didn’t think we could be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. We were told that hip hop was a fad. Much like punk rock, it gave us this anti-culture, this sub-genre, and there were heroes in it.”
Jay also acknowledged his former friend and business partner Damon Dash for his achievements in founding RocAFella with him.
