There’s no doubt that the music genre of Afrobeats has taken the world by storm! With many artists from the UK and US seeking to collaborate with Afrobeat musicians such as Davido, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Wizkid and so much more, it’s safe to say Afrobeat artists have broken the global stage.

Receiving their first Grammy awards at this year’s ceremony, Burna Boy won the best global music album for his album ‘Twice As Tall’, whilst Wizkid took home the award for best music video, which he shared with Beyoncé and her daughter Blue Ivy for their collaboration ‘Brown Skin Girl’.

Accepting his award, Burna Boy said: “Africa is in the house. Africa we’re in the house. This is a big win for my generation of Africans all over the world and this should be a lesson to every African out there. No matter where you are, no matter what you plan to do, you can achieve it.”

Paving the way for many, Burna Boy and Wizkid are indeed inspirations to Nigerians and Africans all over the world. We wish them more success!
