Michelle Obama is cooking up a healthy recipe!
The former first lady announced that she will star in a new cooking show for kids called Waffles + Mochi, which is set to premiere on Netflix.
The show will feature two puppets that have aspirations to cook healthy meals from around the world. Michelle will star as the supermarket owner that guides them through their journey to healthy eating.
In addition, celebrity guests like rapper Common, “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat” author Samin Nosrat and actor Zach Galifianakis will make a special appearance in the show.
The show will continue her initiative to promote healthy eating among children. During the Obama administration, the former first lady launched her “Let’s Move!” campaign to combat childhood obesity in America.
“With the help of friendly new faces like the supermarket owner, Mrs. Obama, and a magical flying shopping cart as their guide, ‘Waffles and Mochi’ blast off on global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms, and homes all over the world, cooking up recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, kids and celebrities,” Netflix said in a statement.
The cooking show is a collaboration with Partnership for a Healthier America to encourage young children and families to make healthy meals in the kitchen.
Waffles + Mochi will premiere on the streaming platform on March 16.
