We can’t imagine how Eddie Lee Howard must be feeling right now! After serving 26 years on death row for a crime he did not commit, Eddie Lee Howard has been exonerated and is finally free.

Based on now-invalid bite mark evidence, Howard was wrongfully convicted of murdering an elderly white woman in Columbus, Mississippi, in 1994.

However, new forensic opinion on the bite marks, alibi witnesses, DNA testing of the crime scene; blood and DNA testing from the murder weapon, proved Eddie Lee Howard’s innocence.

In December 2020, Mr. Howard was released from Mississippi’s death row and on January 8th, 2021, the 67-year old was officially exonerated.
