Conjoined twins in India land first job with two salaries, 19 years after parents abandoned them

Conjoined twins Sohna and Mohna have landed their first jobs as electricians, the Independent reports.

The 19-year-olds, who are from India’s Punjab state, were abandoned by their parents as babies. They then lived at a children’s shelter.

The pair will now be working as electricians for the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, where they will each earn a salary of Rs 10,000 per month.

Sohna and Mohna previously earned diplomas in electronics.

In a statement, they said: “We are thankful to the Punjab government for recognising our talent.”
