Dolphins help rescue a man stranded at sea

A 24-year-old man was rescued off the Irish coast after a pod of dolphins were spotted swimming around his head.

The volunteer lifeboat crew from Fenit RNLI were able to rescue the man who had been missing in the water for almost 12 hours.

Lost in the sea near Castlegregory in County Kerry, the man is reported to be recovering with no serious injuries.

The RNLI stated: “At 20:30, the volunteer lifeboat crew with Fenit RNLI spotted a pod of dolphins and a head above the water about two-and-a-half miles off Castlegregory beach.Ā 

“The casualty was conscious and immediately recovered onto the lifeboat and brought Fenit Harbour to be taken to hospital.”
