
Congratulations to Kimberly Godwin who has been named the president of ABC News!
Godwin is the first Black executive to run one of America’s major broadcast network newsrooms.
After working at CBS News for the past 14 years, Kim Godwin will replace James Goldston at ABC News.
In a statement, Peter Rice – chairman of general entertainment content for ABC’s parent company, Disney, said: “Kim is an instinctive and admired executive whose unique experiences, strengths and strategic vision made her the ideal choice to lead the outstanding team at ABC News and build on their incredible success.
“Throughout Kim’s career in global news organizations and local newsrooms, she has distinguished herself as a fierce advocate for excellence, collaboration, inclusion and the vital role of accurate and transparent news reporting.”
Joining ABC News in May (2021), Kimberly will oversee editorial and business operations for broadcast, digital, streaming and audio news.
