Richest Indian In Middle East, Yusuff Ali M.A, Receives Abu Dhabi’s Top Civilian Award

Yusuff Ali M.A is the chairman and managing director of retail giant LuLu Group International. An Indian based in the United Arab Emirates, Ali arrived in Abu Dhabi in 1973, with a dream to succeed.

The businessman has now been awarded with Abu Dhabi’s top civilian award for his outstanding contribution to the emirate’s business, industry, and support to various philanthropic initiatives.

The Abu Dhabi government honours individuals who have worked and contributed to the development of the emirate. The Abu Dhabi Awards occurs every two years.

The award was presented by the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.

In a statement about his award, Yusuff Ali M.A tweeted, “I first arrived in #AbuDhabi 47 years ago with dreams and hopes. I faced a lot of challenges and ups and downs in my life, but, today, I have reached this stage by the grace of Almighty God & the wholehearted support from the Royal Family of UAE.”

Yusuff Ali M.A is the first expatriate to get a permanent residency visa in both Saudi Arabia and the UAE. He has received multiple awards, including the British Queen’s award in 2017 for his contribution towards boosting international trade. Ali is also involved with a variety of philanthropic work.
