Mandy Moore, the 36-year-old actress in the series “This Is Us” and films like “A Walk to Remember”, welcomed her son Gus into the world on Tuesday (23/02/21). She announced his birth on Instagram, posting a picture of the baby in a cute blue onesie.
“Gus is here. Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith,” Moore said in the caption of the photo. “He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined. M + T.”
Moore is married to Tyler Goldsmith, the lead singer of the folk-rock band Dawes. The two of them couldn’t be happier becoming parents.
The name August has a special meaning for the couple. The first letter of his name, A, stands for Amanda and the last letter stands for Taylor. Moore told Entertainment News that his name felt like a “fitting amalgamation” of the couple’s love story.
Moore also told Romper that she wants to raise her son to be an “intelligent, feminist, loving, compassionate young man, who respects women, and who understands boundaries.”
Goldsmith and Moore got married in 2018 and seem to be even more in love now that their son August is a part of their world.
