In an interview with the Breakfast Club, Video Music Box co-creator Ralph McDaniels told the story behind the classic 2001 video of Jay-Z not speaking during an interview.

Jay had brought Michael Jackson out on stage at Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert and decided that he wanted everyone around him to speak instead of himself.
