Parag Agrawal has become the new CEO of Twitter!

This news comes after it was announced that Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey would be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer. In his statement, Jack said: “I’ve decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders.”

Born in India, Parag, 37, joined Twitter in 2011 and worked his way up to becoming the chief technology officer.

Speaking about the new CEO on, Jack tweeted: “Parag has been behind every critical decision that helped turn this company around. He’s curious, probing, rational, creative, demanding, self-aware and humble. My trust in him as our CEO is bone deep.”

Parag then wrote: “Thank you, Jack. I’m honoured and humbled. And I’m grateful for your continued mentorship and friendship,” he wrote. “I joined this company 10 years ago when there were fewer than 1,000 employees. While it was a decade ago, those days feel like yesterday to me.”
