Sharbat Gula from the 1985 National Geographic Magazine cover has been safely evacuated from Afghanistan to Italy. 
This comes after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.

Now in her 40s, Sharbat’s National Geographic Magazine cover symbolised Afghanistan’s wars.
