Mia Neal and Jamika Wilson became the first Black women to ever win an Oscar for makeup and hairstyling!

Alongside makeup artist Sergio Lopez-Rivera, they won Best Makeup and Hairstyling for Netflix’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, which starred Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman.

Jamika – Viola Davis’s personal hairstylist and Mia – the film’s hair department lead, were also the first Black women to be nominated in the category last month.
