Congratulations to Jeanni Mai and Jeezy (real name Jay Jenkins) who are officially married!

The Real co-host and activist Jeanni Mai and Grammy-nominated artist and entrepreneur Jeezy, got married on March 27th (2021), in an intimate ceremony at their home in Atlanta. The couple shared their wedding photos on Vogue.

Jeannie, 42, and Jeezy, 43, met when Jeezy was a guest on The Real. Years later, Jeezy then asked The Real co-host on a date.

Jeannie said to Vogue, “We shared a romantic sushi dinner in Los Angeles and salsa danced the night away. Later that evening, he asked if I could picture spending the rest of my life with him. And crazy enough, I could.”

They began dating in 2019.

Initially, Jeezy planned to propose in Vietnam – Jeannie’s home country, however due to the coronavirus pandemic, they had to cancel the trip. The rapper then created a Vietnam-themed date night at his Los Angeles home, where he then popped the question.

Due to the pandemic and unfortunate passing of Jeezy’s mother, the couple changed their wedding plans.

“We were really looking forward to having all of our friends and family there to celebrate, but we had to change all of our wedding plans due to COVID. After Jeezy’s mother unexpectedly passed, we quickly learned that life is too short. And at the end of the day, Jeezy and I really just wanted to become husband and wife. So we decided to turn our original wedding into a mini-mony, where we exchanged our vows in front of our immediate family and a few close friends,” said Jeannie.
