Man Utd and English forward Marcus Rashford has been named as one of Time Magazine’s ‘The Next 100 Most Influential People’.

He is being recognised for his work in fighting against child hunger.

Chosen by Time magazine to write the entry on Rashford, Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton wrote: “By standing up for the most vulnerable in our society, and using his platform and influence to create positive change, Marcus inspired countless others to join him on this mission and cemented his status as a role model.

“In a year that showed us the power of working together toward a common goal, he was a galvanizing force behind uniting people across the UK in the effort to ensure no child goes hungry.

“His determination, resilience and persistence have been truly inspiring. I cannot wait to see how he continues this important work.”

Last year (2020) Marcus Rashford, 23, was made MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours. He was given the title for his work in fighting for free school meals for children in England.

Millions rallied behind Rashford’s campaign, which caused the government to provide free school meals for children (from families that are struggling financially) during the holidays.
