Joe Biden’s Grandchildren Open Up About Their “Pop” And Friendship With Obama’s Daughters

Filmed before the presidential inauguration, Joe Biden’s daughter Ashley and four of his grandchildren Naomi, 27; Finnegan, 22; Maisy, 20; and Natalie, 16  reflected on their relationship and memories with the person they call “Dad” and “Pop”.

Naomi, Finnegan and Maisy are the daughters of Biden’s son Hunter, 50, while Natalie is the daughter of Biden’s late son, Beau, who died at the age of 46 from brain cancer in 2015.

Despite being a lifelong public servant, President Joe Biden has always put his family first.

Speaking to Today’s Jenna Bush Hager (daughter of former president George W Bush), Maisy said,”He came to, like, every single one of my soccer games, lacrosse games, basketball games. And it was always funny seeing him show up when I was like, ‘I think I just saw you on TV about 30 minutes ago, how did you just end up here?’ And he was like, ‘Don’t worry, I knew it was a big game today.”

Maisy continued, “That’s something that I feel like some people don’t believe when we say that he literally calls, not just, like, one of us every few days. He calls me, then calls Naomi, then he calls Finn, then he calls Natalie, then he calls Ashley, and then he calls little Hunter.”

The grandchildren also discussed their close bond with Barack Obama’s daughters Sasha and Malia, which stemmed from when Biden was Obama’s Vice President from 2009 to 2017. The Biden girls spoke about getting advice from Sasha and Malia too.

Located just a few miles apart, the entire Biden family will be living on the president residential grounds during the Biden administration.
