A couple in Southern China have been reunited with their missing son who was abducted 14 years ago!

Sun Haiyang and Peng Siying had been searching for their son Sun Zhuo, 18, for years after he was abducted in Shenzhen city at the age of 4 in 2007, CNN reports.

According to Chinese state media, the parents sold properties and offered a $31,000 reward for anyone who had information that could help in locating their son.

The hit 2014 film, ‘Dearest’ (created by Hong Kong director Peter Chan) highlighted Sun’s story and the issues of child abduction and trafficking in China.

Sun was reportedly found in the eastern province of Shandong due to police using facial recognition technology to identify the person accused of kidnapping him. The suspect is being accused of two kidnappings which include Sun’s abduction.

The 18-year-old’s adoptive parents have been released on bail and are pending trial.

Sun reportedly wants to stay with his adoptive parents due to being raised by them for over a decade.

It’s great that Sun and Peng finally know where their son is and hopefully they will still be able to form a relationship with him.
