Musharaf Asghar first appeared on our screens when he was 16-years-old on the TV series Educating Yorkshire.

Overcoming the challenges of having a strong stammer, Musharaf inspired not only his classmates, but the entire world when he went on his school’s stage and delivered a speech.

Now 25-years-old, Musharaf is a motivational speaker and takes pride in having a stammer. He recently finished a degree in Broadcast Journalism, which he hopes to use in raising awareness of stammering.

In his LinkedIn bio, he writes: “Since my story was first told on the Emmy Award winning series, I have devoted my years to spreading the awareness about stammering and showing the resilience to never give up despite being told I’d never speak again.”
