Senegalese-Italian Khaby Lame has propelled to international stardom. His rise to fame began when he lost his job at a factory in Italy during the COVID-19 pandemic, in March 2020.

Despite pleas from his father to apply for jobs, he instead decided to make videos using an outdated phone in his shared room. Khaby, who’s full name is Khabane Lame, has accumulated up to 81.5 million followers and counting on TikTok. At the rate he is going, he should soon reach the ranks of Charli D’Amelio, who is the most followed Tiktoker with a staggering 119 million followers and counting.

The 21-year-old is known for his reaction videos to over complicated life hacks. He often duets with viral videos and demonstrates an easier method to complete the task. Without saying a thing, he gives a hand gesture pointing out the obvious way and shaking his head in disbelief.

The founder of The Publish Press Samir Chaudry, expressed : “His content almost debunks or mocks the overproduced trends that happen across social media, whether it’s life hacks or other things like that. He almost represents this authenticity over production. I think that’s very appealing at scale to people, this feeling of someone not trying too hard, it’s something that feels authentic.”

Khaby often collaborates with influential Celebrities, TikTokers and YouTubers. Recently he had an opportunity to collaborate with Alessandro Del Piero, the popular soccer player from his favorite team Juventus.
