Steven Bartlett, 28, will be joining the BBC series, Dragons’ Den! The incoming judge will be the youngest investor in the show’s history.
Sarah Clay, BBC’s Commissioning Editor of Entertainment, said that Bartlett’s ‘unique approach to business will bring a whole new dynamic to the Den.’
Steven is the founder and former CEO of the social media marketing agency, The Social Chain. The 28-year-old launched The Social Chain from his Manchester bedroom at the age of 22 after dropping out of university. By the age of 27, he made the company public with the market value of over £300 million.
Bartlett earned best-seller for his debut book Happy Sexy Millionaire, which was published this year 2021 and he hosts his successful podcast, The Diary of a CEO.
The entrepreneur’s success has granted him spotlight in the entrepreneurial world. He’s been featured in the Forbes 30 under 30 and has won awards at the Black British Business Awards and the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. In 2019 Bartlett was also inducted into Manchester’s Hall of Fame.
In a statement, Bartlett said: “I’ve been watching Dragons’ Den since I was 12 years old – it was my first window into the real world of business and investing. It’s a tremendous honour to join the Den, hopefully representing a new generation of entrepreneurs, inspiring young and specifically under-represented entrepreneurs to follow in my footsteps.”
The Young Dragon will take the place of Tej Lalvani for the 19th season of the show.
