Earlier this week, it was announced that The Duke of Sussex would be joining BetterUp, a US coaching and mental health firm, as their first Chief Impact Officer.

Prince Harry has always been very passionate about helping others and mental health wellbeing. In 2006 he founded Sentebale, a mental health charity for young people affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana. In 2014 he also founded the Invictus games, a multi-sport event for wounded, injured and sick service personnel to take part in, and support rehabilitation – So it comes as no surprise that The Duke has found a way to continue helping people even after stepping down from his duties as a Royal.

BetterUp was launched in 2013, they provide mobile-based coaching, counselling and mentorship that helps people “unleash personal and professional potential”.

In his statement, Prince Harry said: “My goal is to lift up critical dialogues around mental health, build supportive and compassionate communities, and foster an environment for honest and vulnerable conversations. And my hope is to help people develop their inner strength, resilience, and confidence.”

Prince Harry says he is “really excited to be joining the BetterUp team” where he will be involved in product strategy decisions, charitable contributions and speaking publicly about mental health related topics.

Not long after this job announcement, the 36-year-old also confirmed he will be joining the Aspen Institute as a commissioner, fighting against misinformation in the digital world. Harry will be amongst 14 other commissioners and three co-chairs that will be running a six-month study on the state of the media in the United States.
