Prince Akeem is coming back to America!

Earlier this week, Amazon Studios released the second trailer for Coming 2 America, the highly anticipated sequel to the 1988 hit film Coming to America

Fans got to see Eddie Murphy return as the comical Prince Akeem, back in New York City once again after his visit 30 years ago. He finds out that he has a long-lost son, Queens native Lavelle. Determined to know his son, Akeem sets out on a journey to find him.

The trailer starts off with an introduction to familiar faces, like Saul, Clarence and Morris from the barbershop. They laugh at the fact that Akeem has returned to find his son even though he didn’t pay child support.

Then, Akeem is shown trying to find his son. Akeem wants to inform him that he is the heir to the throne of Zamunda. His son’s mother, who is played by Leslie Jones, jokingly alludes to her son being the “prince of Wakanda,” referencing Marvel’s Black Panther

The trailer shifts to Zamunda, where Lavelle is set to become king. Instead of replicating the plot from the first Coming to America, the second film will show Lavelle trying to adjust to his new life in Zamunda.

In addition to Murphy, James Earl Jones, John Amos, Shari Headley and Garcelle Beauvais are set to reprise their roles from the original film. The new cast members will include Tracy Morgan, Wesley Snipes, Jermaine Fowler and Kiki Layne.

Coming 2 America will be available to stream on Amazon on March 5.
